Senior AVL Installer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior AVL Installer to join our team. This role is ideal for seasoned professionals with deep knowledge of Audio, Video, and Lighting (AVL) systems who can take ownership of complex installations from start to finish. As a Senior AVL Installer, you will lead job sites, mentor junior team members, and ensure every project is delivered with precision, safety, and client satisfaction in mind.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation and integration of professional AVL systems, including audio distribution, video projection/displays, lighting rigs, and control systems.
  • Supervise and direct junior installers and subcontractors, providing training and mentorship.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project documentation.
  • Oversee cable management, rack building, rigging, system calibration, and final commissioning.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning for optimal performance.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment at job sites, enforcing safety standards.
  • Provide professional client interaction, including basic training on installed systems.
  • Document completed work and contribute to project close-out reports.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience in professional AVL system installation or related field.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard equipment: audio mixers, amplifiers, DSPs, video switchers, projectors/displays, lighting fixtures, and control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of signal flow, networking (AV over IP), and system integration.
  • Ability to lead crews on job sites and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Experience with rigging, rack assembly, soldering, and termination of various connectors (XLR, HDMI, Cat6, etc.).
  • Comfort using power tools, test equipment, and lift equipment.
  • CTS certification (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights as needed.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel within Ohio, Florida, Texas, and Arizona.
